Scott is a PhD candidate at UNSW Art & Design. With a background in installation and interaction design, Scott’s research aims to establish a framework for designers to focus on opening channels of communication between researcher and participant; recognising that conversations are not limited to language, but also include other modes of physical and sensory expression.
As ‘co-overlord’ of the Sydney chapter of Dorkbot, Scott’s approach to design has roots in maker culture and he encourages participants to interact with his work through self-directed exploration. At Autism MeetUp 2016, visitors will be invited to interact with the major design artefact of Scott’s PhD research: a responsive dome environment (documentation below).
